Thanksgiving Baskets

The Thanksgiving Basket ministry each November provides the less fortunate with a very special meal—a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. St. Bart’s parishioners purchase all necessary ingredients and, on the Sunday before the holiday, gather at church to assemble the baskets and deliver them to families living in transitional housing under the care of Interfaith Community Services (ICS) in Escondido. The children of St. Bart’s create handmade greeting cards for the families. In 2009, 85 families received Thanksgiving meals through this ministry.
