Thanksgiving Baskets

The Thanksgiving Basket ministry is a aimed at providing the less fortunate with one very special meal -- a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. St. Bart’s parishioners purchase all necessary ingredients in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving and, on the Sunday before the holiday, gather at the parish to assemble the baskets and deliver them to families living in transitional housing under the care of Interfaith Community Services (ICS) in Escondido. The children of St.Barts create hand-made greeting cards for the families. In 2007, our eighth year in this popular ministry, the parish provided baskets to 75 families.
