Sunday, February 25, 2018, 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Mary Foster Parmer, creator of Invite Welcome Connect, a nationally recognized, evangelism ministry, will be the keynote at our Leadership Academy this year, and has graciously offered to stay over an extra day to preach at St. Bart’s on February 25 and to lead a special workshop that afternoon. The focus of this workship will be "Invite" -- how we at St. Bart’s can begin practicing a culture of invitation and evangelism to our surrounding community.
St. Bart's "Invite" Workshop with Mary Parmer
Sunday, February 25
12-2:30 p.m. at St. Bart’s
Lunch will be provided
Why offer a workshop on “Invite” rather than “Welcome” or “Connect”?
We’re reaching beyond our walls and inviting our friends and neighbors. This is where we need to grow next as a community. We do a good job Welcoming and Connecting newcomers – everyone is warmly welcomed to St. Bart’s and we follow-up and make every effort to connect newcomers to our community in some way. With those pieces in place, we’re ready to start work on the next part of our "Radical Hospitality" puzzle - inviting people to our beloved church! Evangelism and invitation are challenging for many Episcopalians, but more critical then ever in the 21st Century church.
This is the beginning of a new emphasis on invitation and evangelism that will be a part of our ongoing strategic plan and touch all our ministries. Join us as we kick off a new season in our life as a faith community and with God’s help, continue to grow into the community we are called to be.
Please RSVP with Beth Dean, or 858-487-2159, so we can plan lunch.
